LG has added to its range of stylish Android-powered smartphones with the launch of the high-powered, quad-core LG Optimus 4X HD – a sleek, good-looking device, built to deliver ample performance and features.

Powered by the Nvidia Tegra 3 chipset, the phone uses a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, along with 1GB of RAM and high-powered 12-core Nvidia graphics, to deliver performance to rival the very best cutting-edge smartphones.

Built around a 4.7-inch True HD IPS capacitive screen running a 720 x 1280 pixel HD resolution, the phone is designed to show high-definition 720p video in all its glory, making it perfectly aimed at multimedia fans.

While LG hasn’t equipped the Optimus 4X HD with the latest 4.1 Jelly Bean version of Android, it uses the previous Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system to provide great usability and an easy-to-use interface.

The handset also packs an 8-Megapixel BSI sensor rear-facing camera with an LED flash and as well as letting you capture ultra-sharp photos, the camera is capable of recording 1080p HD video at 30fps.

There is also a secondary 1.3-Megapixel front-facing camera for making easy video calls and snapping portrait shots.

Extra features are just as good. 16GB of internal storage is provided as standard and you can add as much as 32GB of extra storage via MicroSD card if you require more space for carrying around photos, apps, games and videos.

High-speed wireless connectivity is also provided, with 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC all making it quick and easy to browse the web, share files and synchronise the phone with compatible peripherals.

And with its 2150mAh battery LG even promises ample mobility, adding to the value of this powerful phone.

The Optimus 4X HD is set for release this summer. SIM-free pre-order prices are set at around £450, but network availability and prices are still yet to be confirmed..
