Alicia Keys no longer a part of BlackBerry

Eyebrows were raised last year when singer Alicia Keys was hired by none other than Blackberry to be the brand’s global creative director. Well you can lower those eyebrows now – Keys is no longer with the company.

Neither the company nor Keys offered any details on the departure, though BlackBerry thanked its former ’employee’ for her service. Keys was only brought on to the company last January, making this endorsement last slightly under a full year.

BlackBerry of course finds itself in a difficult position at the moment. Perhaps they decided it best to get back to basics instead of elaborate schemes such as this. Or perhaps Keys just really missed her iPhone.
