The Samsung Galaxy S6 edge goes on sale from today, but the Korean phone brand could struggle to meet demand due to manufacturing issues. The new device is available to purchase alongside the Samsung Galaxy S6.

Samsung has had issues manufacturing the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge’s curved screen and this problem could potentially lead to stock shortages, JK Shin, Samsung’s head of mobile, said at a media event yesterday (April 9).

Shin warned that the company could struggle to meet Samsung Galaxy S6 edge’s demand, a record for the company, because of the issues.

Samsung is “working hard to resolve the difficulty in supply,” but stock could be low “for a while,” he said.

Reports from Korea suggested that around 20 million orders for the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge and Samsung Galaxy S6 have been placed by carriers.
