The Samsung Note 7 has seen another major leak before Samsung’s Unpacked event next week. We now know more about Samsung’s next phablet.

This new leak is probably the biggest, revealing new information on S Pen, software and hardware. We’ve known for a while Samsung will be giving the Note 7 the curve screen treatment, and according to sources speaking to Talk Android, it will be less pronounced than the S7 Edge. Meaning less failed pokeball throws on Pokemon Go. It also brings the question of whether Samsung intend to also release a standard flat version, as it did with the S7.

Sources claim the screen will be 5.7-inches, the same size on the current Note 5. It will be coated with Corning’s latest Gorilla Glass 5 with minimal bezels.

Apparently it will be thicker than the 7.5mm Note 5, with no measurements given. While we’re expecting a device to resemble the S7 Edge, it will differ with a USB-C port instead of micro USB. Samsung could be including a micro USB adaptor in the box.

Samsung Note 7 ideal for scuba diving instructors?

A surprising rumour popped up, with the source claiming S Pen can be used with the Note 7 – underwater. Adding to the surprise feature is: a magnifying glass, translator and always-on-display. Invading the always-on-display space is Notes. Notes written on the Note 7 will appear on screen even when the screen is off.

Interestingly the resolution can be lowered to 720p for battery conservation. Being a larger device we can expect the Note 7 to exceed the 3,600mAh battery seen on the S7 Edge.

Further information echoes what we’ve heard before. The excellent 12-megapixel, S7 Edge rear-facing camera is expected to be bolted on the back. Front-facing camera is 5-megapixels, also from the S7 Edge.

An iris scanner was leaked heavily with plenty of speculation behind it. We can also expect a fingerprint scanner on board too.

Disappointingly the source speaks of 4GB of RAM, instead of 6GB. Another version could perhaps sport 6GB, maybe in the 128GB version.

There’s almost nothing we don’t know about the Note 7, but of course none of this is concrete and should be taken with a pinch of salt
