Nokia Lumia 1020 name confirmed in Joe Belfiore Flickr posting

There we go then, days before Nokia’s official unveiling of its 41-megapixel beast, the name has been confirmed — entirely by accident.

According to a Flickr post from Windows Phone chief Joe Belfiore, that name will be the Lumia 1020, and not the 909 as rumoured by many.

Whilst Flickr data can be faked, we’re going to go out on a limb here and predict that Belfiore hasn’t manipulated the data on this occasion.

The two photos that appear to have been taken with the Lumia 1020 aren’t the full 41-megapixel resolution — instead, just like on the 808 PureView, they are listed at a significantly reduced resolution of 5-megapixels and 3.7-megapixels respectively. With this in mind, it’s incredibly likely that you will be able to shoot photos at different resolutions.

Nokia has been teasing the phone itself, using the slogan “41 million reasons to zoom in.”
