We all love our smartphones, but do we love them a little too much? This infographic from Neon SMS seems to suggest so…
Is the smartphone the greatest piece of technological hardware of all time? Many would say yes. It’s hard to disagree when, with a device that can fit in your hand and pocket, you can do everything from make phone calls to message friends, play games, watch movies, book holidays and shop online.
Alas, the smartphone is probably too convenient for our own good. We can be overly reliant on the device for important tasks such as finding directions or reading maps, and when it’s not working properly, we’re left at a loss. Also, it has rendered many of us anti-social in the company of others. Instead of engaging in conversation with the people physically around us, we become lost in a world of Clash of Clans, Angry Birds or Instagram.
This infographic from Neon SMS (http://www.neonsms.ie/ ) includes some eye-opening statistics which show just how dependent we have become on smartphones and how we can keep that dependency in check so that we own smartphones, not the other way around.
