Microsoft has been having a few teething issues with the new Surface devices, to the point where they are now issuing a public apology.
The company posted the response on its Answer Forum where employee Josh_F wrote: “For those of you who’ve had a less-than-perfect experience, we’re sorry for any frustration this has caused”.
Microsoft has been busy assuring customers that the company is listening to feedback, much like when Windows 10 was initially released. The message that Redmond is keen to get across seems to be that they’re trying to make amends.
Perhaps the biggest issue currently effecting the new Surface line is battery drain. Both devices are using excessive juice while under standby mode, which is thought to be caused by both the Windows Hello login feature and sleep mode itself. Microsoft has stated that the devices are currently not in “the deepest sleep they can be”, leading to serious drain when programs are left running in the background.
Their current solutions and workarounds have been somewhat primitive, angering early adopters and critics alike.
