Motorola’s long-rumoured Moto X smartphone could come with a wealth of customisation features, and according to the company’s latest ad, the phone will be designed by you and then built in the USA.

According to ABC News, the level of customisation that users will actually get isn’t actually that far reaching, with colour options, wallpaper and engravings the only things in the hands of the consumer.

That said, rumours have it that the phone will come in a range of up to 16 colours, from red to blue to purple, according to French site  nowhereelse.fr.

ABC News’ sources claim that the customised phones will be built in the company’s 500,000ft Texas factory, and then shipped to consumers within days of purchase.

Currently Google is staying mum on whether or not the rumours are true, reiterating that the only thing they are saying at the moment is that the phone will be built in the USA.

What’s special about the Moto X is that it will be the first phone that Google had a hand in since it bought the company back in 2011.

It’s also going to be the only recently announced Motorola phone that will not carry Verizon’s DROID moniker in the US.
