Lenovo released a video teasing a release date for the Motorola Razr V3. Are we actually seeing a resurrection of the iconic flip phone?
Lenovo look set to resurrect the Motorola V3 Razr, almost over a decade since the sleek device was discontinued in 2007. Analysing the video we can see Lenovo sending waves of nostalgia with pop rock music, early 2000 fashion and of course the Razr V3 itself, being used by clear complexioned “teenagers” in an American High School.
By the end Lenovo throw in the much used Internet slang “TTYL” (Talk To You Later). Followed by a date, 06.09.16, that’s June 9th for my fellow Brits. Coincidentally that is the same date as Lenovo Tech World.
Obviously Lenovo has something up their sleeves. Although it’ll be strange to see a Razr V3 announced next week as there has been no leaks leading it.
The description in the video reads “flip back to the Razr days of yesteryear and get ready for the future.” It seems more likely Lenovo are using nostalgia from the Razr V3 to hype the release of the new Moto Z line. The Moto Z devices (below) have been the subject of many leaks, we’re willing to bet Lenovo are actually announcing it on June 9th.
The Moto Z phones are code names Vertex and Vector Thin. Both devices will supposedly will support modular peripherals called “MotoMods,” in the same vein as the LG G5. We will definitely know more by the 9th as Lenovo are keeping tight lipped about the trailer.
