HTC isn’t having the best week. First we heard that the company is facing legal trouble in its battle against Nokia patent infringements, and now we’re hearing that an issue with supply is going to drastically effect their Q3 performance.
The Taiwanese company is reportedly struggling with the HTC One mini’s casing, so much so that it’s struggling to keep up with the rest of the manufacturing. This in turn is keeping supply from meeting demand. Apparently only 200,000 One minis will be shipped a month for the foreseeable future, meaning that the company’s Q3 predictions have taken a hit. The third quarter ends next week, with a report expected in October. Some suggest that HTC could even see a net loss within this timeframe.
That’s a pretty grim outlook, then. HTC will have to hope for the best while it’s in this fairly powerless position.
