HP Slate 7 isn’t the end of the company’s tablet products; it’s set to move into the market in a much grander fashion in time for Christmas. A total of six new tablets are on the way in 2013, marking the company’s first foray into the higher end of the industry. The tablets range from four Android supported devices and two that incorporate the Windows OS.

Fans of the Slate 7 will be happy to hear that this model will be upgraded to the Slate 7 HD, along with a 10 inch counterpart by the name of (you guessed it) Slate 10 HD. It’s been suggest that the smaller of these two won’t actually be replacing the original 7, so expect something of a price hike. For now though the 7 and 10 match on specs, with 1,280 x 800 IPS screens, battery life of nine hours, a dual-core processor (though which one isn’t known), Beats Audio and optional 4G connectivity, provided by T-Mobile.

The 7 range doesn’t stop there; the Slate 7 Extreme was also revealed. This holds a Tegra 4 processor inside and comes with a stylus. We’ll leave it up to you to judge if that alone grants it the ‘Extreme’ heading, though we’d personally be expecting a built-in snowboard or something.

Heading into uncharted territory is the Slate 8 Pro, which takes its name from its size – 8 inches. It sports a 7.98-inch display and a 4:3 aspect ratio, complete with a Tegra 4 processor and dual 8MP / 2MP cameras. The display runs at 1,600 x 1,200 and there’s room for a microSD slot, micro-HDMI output and a micro-USB port. Another newcomer, the Pavilion 11 x2, is set to replace the Envy x2 hybrid. There’s a new Intel Bay Trail processor to instead of Atom’s own, and there’s an upgrade to 4GB of RAM and 128GB of flash storage. It will. however, keep the 11.6-inch form factor and 1,366 x 768 IPS screen from the previous model, as well as it keyboard dock. Look for its launch on November 17th for the starting price of $599.99. Obviously, this is one of the Windows OS products.

Last but not least is the Omni 10, another one taking on the Bay Trail range. Shipping in November, this one runs 8.1 with 64GB of storage and 2GB of RAM. There’s a microSD slot and micro-HDMI and micro-USB ports, but we’re still waiting on battery and price.

Quite the range from HP today, then. HP is set to have an interesting holiday season with this many products on range. Hopefully more of the unknown details will start to come in as we get closer to launch.
