Run two apps at the same time (Multi window)

Just like on a desktop PC, it’s possible to run two applications side by side on the same screen with the Samsung Galaxy S4

Go to the Settings menu and click on My device > Display > Multi window. A tiny curved icon with a little green arrow will edge out from the left hand side of the display. Tap on it.

A new menu strip appears down the left of the screen. It’s filled with shortcuts to various applications, you can scroll it up and down (some apps are hidden off screen). Click Edit to rearrange the order in which they appear.

To activate an application, just drag it from the menu strip into the main screen area. Then do the same with a second application, dragging it into the highlighted   area below. The menu strip will now disappear from view.

Multi Window also operates in landscape mode, with both applications running happily alongside each other (we chose the Gallery and Chrome internet browser). You can control both applications simultaneously (if you have enough fingers).

Slide the central dividing bar left or right in order to give an app more of the available screen area. You can flip the positions by tapping the icon with two arrows, or revert an app to full screen by tapping the rectangular icon. To close an app just hit the X button.
