As mobile game blockbusters go, Modern Combat 5: Blackout has got to be one of the biggest, and now its developer Gameloft has scheduled a  release date of 24 July for the title.

Gameloft revealed its latest iteration to the FPS franchise as part of its E3 game line-up last month, which had us in a frenzy.

Check out the trailer for Modern Combat 5: Blackout below, to see what we’re talking about.

The game boasts some of the best graphics we’ve seen for a mobile title and also has an extensive story mode with cut-scenes and action set pieces. All this alongside a range of smaller spec ops missions that cater to gamers on the go.

Meanwhile, there’s also a heavy-duty multiplayer section that will boast four different modes, classes, squads and unified progression with the single-player campaign. So, plenty for FPS fans to sink their teeth in to then.

Thankfully, Gameloft is releasing Modern Combat 5 as a premium game. That means no annoying in-app purchases to halt your progress and drain your piggy bank.

There has, however, been no mention of the price of the game and whether the iOS and Android release dates will be the same. We’ll update you as soon as we find out the exact details.

Until then, better start flexing those thumbs and fingers as the deployment date for Modern Combat 5: Blackout draws ever nearer.
