Complete with QWERTY keyboard, the BlackBerry Q10 will launch in April.

The manufacturer confirmed its second handset running the new operating system BlackBerry 10 will launch in April, Mobile News reported.

This will be the first device with a QWERTY keyboard, something BlackBerry (formerly known as Research In Motion) used to be known for.

BlackBerry confirmed the release date for the first global carriers in April and said it was working closely with carriers to accelerate testing of the handset, Mobile News reported.

The confirmation follows reports that the Q10 launch would be delayed, after an Associated Press article reported chief executive Thorsten Heins had said the Q10 release date would likely come eight to 10 weeks after the release of the Z10, which was expected in the United States in mid-March, PC Mag reported.

The AP article reported this brought the release date somewhere from mid-May to early June, despite an earlier scheduled release date of April.

But the manufacturer’s confirmation appears to address these conflicting reports, with the first physical keyboard BlackBerry on schedule for an April release.
