A rumour out of nowhere! A Huawei manufactured Google tablet could well be on its way to join the two new Google smartphones, by the end of the year.

There hasn’t been a lot of speculation on a new Google tablet, so we’re still reeling from the news ourself. According to reputable leakster Evan Blass the new 7-inch tablet will be released “before the end of the year.” The Huawei built device will also sport 4GB of RAM.

Apart from Blass’ revelation there has been no other substantial evidence on the new Google tablet. Huawei were spotted to have trademarked the name “Huawei 7P,” prompting speculation on a new tablet. A tablet as delivered by the Chinese manufacturer at IFA this year, in the shape of the MediaPad M3.

Google tablet of old

The last time we saw a tablet from Google was the Nexus 19 in 2014. It didn’t get much love as the Nexus phones as it was priced higher than Apple’s tablets at the time. The specs didn’t match the price and disillusioned fans were everywhere.

Google are expected to hold a press event on October 4th, where the tech giants could announce two new phones (not Nexus), a Daydream headset, a 4K Chromecast dongle and now maybe a Google tablet.
