A new Android One handset could be making its way to the market very soon, with the Indian smartphone manufacturer Lava expected to produce it.
We’ve known about the next generation Android One smartphone for a while but recently we haven’t heard much about its impending release. Originally slated for July 14th, we were beginning to wonder if it was ever going to be revealed at all. Today, a cryptic image has appeared courtesy of Lava that seems to suggest the planned launch is still going ahead.
The company has sent out press invites for an event on July 27th, where the device is finally expected to be publicly revealed. Lava is a major smartphone developer within the Indian market, an area where the original Android One heavily targeted. This updated version is expected to ship with 2GB RAM and a MediaTek SoC, plus a generous 5-inch display. The last One handset didn’t do as well as Google initially hoped but this one should do much better thanks to easier availability.
