Bloxels, the video game that lets you build your own games with physical blocks, successfully completed its Kickstarter project on 18th June.
Raising just over $68,000, Bloxels will now go into production, with early backers receiving their units in October this year. With Bloxels, the principal of the game is to use physical blocks and build customizable video games on your iOS, Android & Kindle tablet or smartphone. Create a layout on the gameboard. Capture it on camera. Customize it in the app, test it out and make it awesome. Then, challenge your friends and try to beat each other’s creations.
Bloxels is recommended for players 8 and up but can be enjoyed by game-lovers of all ages. Players simply place physical blocks on the gameboard to create a layout for the game, scan a picture with the accompanying app, then customize and play the game on a tablet or smartphone. You can place walls, choose where enemies and turrets spawn, and customize the location of those all-important coins. Battling as a hero or a boss, the more you play the more coins and gems you earn towards upgrades.
Rob Bennet, Head of Technical Operations and fellow Co-Founder says, “We are confident that the app software ensures every game is an exciting, shareable and uniquely hands-on experience. Bloxels has been developed thanks to feedback from both kids and adults to make it the ultimate gaming experience, and we can’t wait to hear from our backers on how to make Bloxels even better”.
The Bloxels Box Set is available for $50 which includes 1 gameboard, 250 blocks, 1 guidebook and the B.R.A.V.E Squad App, for delivery in October this year.
