Xiaomi has unveiled the Redmi 3, proving to be a massive upgrade from the Redmi 2.

What will catch the eye is the massive 4,100 mAh capacity battery, an increase from 2,200 mAh seen on the Redmi 2. Another notable feature is the premium full metal chassis, a departure from the plastic body of the Redmi 2.

The Redmi 3 will pack a 5-inch HD display, octa-core Snapdragon 616 complimented with 2GB RAM. Internal memory is 16GB which is expandable. Proving that it isn’t just a battery pack phone.

On the snapper front we can look forward to a 13 megapixel main camera with f/2.0 aperture, meaning it will perform better under lowlight than other mid-range devices. The selfie cam will be 5 megapixels.

Xiaomi currently do not officially sell their devices in the UK, but other avenues can of course be taken to obtain their cheap high quality devices. Prices with importing websites differ depending on the site. The Redmi 3 will officially launch in China on January 12th for ¥699, which at the time of writing equated to £73. Importing it will as said add more to the cost, but even with shipping fees the Redmi 3 is a worthy purchase.
