Apple is developing a new tool to make it easier to transfer data from iPhones to Android.
According to The Telegraph, a “senior industry source” has said Apple has agreed to develop the tool after growing pressure from European mobile operators, who see an issue with iPhone users rarely switching over to a different device. This could be in part due to transferring data from an iOS device, can be quite arduous.
Mobile operators fear the lack of switching weakens them in commercial negotiations. No release date was mentioned neither did Apple comment. Apple did release a tool for Android users to transfer data onto iPhones last year. Apple’s late founder Steve Jobs wrote in an email, that Apple should aim to “further lock customers into our ecosystem,” the email was made apparent during Apple’s court case against Samsung.
