Xiaomi has announced via their Facebook page that the Mi Store will open in the UK and USA on may 19th in a beta trial, initially selling accessories.
“For the first time ever, fans in the US, UK, France and Germany can shop onmi.com and purchase star accessories like the 5000mAh and 10400mAh Mi power banks, Mi Band and Mi Headphones,” the company announced on Facebook.
Although they are starting with a very basic rollout of accessories, we would expect that phones will follow shortly after. Xiaomi has stated that the accessories would be in “very limited quantities”, so if you’re eager for them you better head over there quick.
The Xiaomi Vice President of International Hugo Barra has been saying for quite some time that the company plans on bringing these phones to the west; this will prove a perfect test to see how the market reacts.
The sale starts at midday in the UK and will be available direct from their website. Just make sure you sign up for a Mi Account at http://account.mi.com first.
