UMi Super Euro Edition goes on sale, with a retail price of $199.99 (£153.83).
We’ve already briefly looked at the UMi Super when the device managed to survive a 2 meter drop in a viral video posted by the Chinese smartphone manufacturer. Today, the company has announced that the limited edition ‘Euro’ variant has gone on sale for just $199.99. Shipping started on August 15th, so register your interest now if you fancy one.
The device carries a very attractive blue colour which we can only assume was inspired by the European Union flag. It comes in a metal uni-body design comprised of ‘Aerospace class’ aluminium and diamond cut edges. Aesthetically, it looks every bit as good as flagship devices which cost significantly more.
UMi Super Euro Edition – Yes, it’s blue
In terms of features, it’s the same Super device that reported on a while ago. This means you’ll be getting a MediaTek Helio P10 chip clocked at 2.0Ghz and 4GB RAM, plus a very large 4000mAh battery. This is all crammed into a 5.5-inch device with a Sharp 2.5D screen. Other highlights include 13 megapixel rear sensor from Panasonic and USB-C with quick charging support. There’s also a fingerprint scanner and stock Android 6.0, the latter of which is quite a big deal.
UMi will be shipping the Super Euro Edition with a new over-the-air (OTA) update, bringing the software version to UMI SUPER.V3.02_20160810. The update brings enhancements to the power saving mode, which should help enhance battery life somewhat.
