Uber has released a completely new application that gives participating drivers access to a host of information.
The new app is divided into four sections which can be utilised while out in the field or at home checking your income.
Home
The home tab provides a personalised feed that shows city activity and potential clients. A new and improved heat map provides recommendations based on area and doesn’t just rely on the surge pricing of old. It also displays notes from local Uber city teams, upcoming events and opportunities to earn a bit extra cash. This essentially replaces the inbox feature used in previous versions.
Earnings
This section includes a series of interactive charts to help drivers check their fares and compare earning reports on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Tracking tools are also in place so that drivers can set goals and check how their performance is going, useful for those who want to earn a set amount of money each month.
Ratings
The ratings system has been expanded to show much more detail about why a rider gave the score they did. Drivers can now see comments from the highest and lowest rated rides, plus additional pro tips suggesting ways to improve their cabbing skills.
Account
Profile management is now possible from within the app using a dedicated account tab, while drivers can also access help articles or Uber support for additional advice.
The update is currently only available on Android devices, though expect an iOS version very soon.
