We know you’re big app fans like us, but sometimes you’re likely to struggle to know which apps you should be downloading.

If you’ve just bought an iPhone 5c or 5s, and you’ve never had one before, then the App Store may seem like a daunting place for you to go to.

Learning languages is by no means easy, but Duolingo offers a fun and free way of learning the basics in French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Italian and even English. This is literally the simplest way of learning a language, with tests being incredibly diverse, from typing to speaking. There’s something for everyone.

The app runs in the background throughout the day, keeping track of your movememnts and keeping you up to date on how much excersise you’ve had. It aims to get at least 30 minutes out of your per day.

Who says that radio is dead? TuneIn gives you access to 70,000 stations from across the globe, complete with over 2 million podcasts, concerts and shows ready for listening. That will more than cover your music, sports and news needs. For £4.99 you can upgrade to a Pro version that lets you record everything you want to listen to.

No, this isn’t a revolution in the way you pay for London transport. Instead, Oyster is a sort of Netflix for reading, offering 100,000 books that are instantly available to you for a monthly fee. It’s still in the early stages, but with publishers like HarperColins already on board, expect this to become as essential as Spotify.
