Sony has announced the latest addition to its Z3 flagship series, the Sony Xperia Z3+. The new device boasts an attractive design, a powerful 20.7mP camera, ultra-quick performance and a large 5.2-inch full HD screen. It launches globally from June 2015.
Sony Xperia Z3+ design
Design-wise, the Sony Xperia Z3+ has metal-framed jacket, tempered glass and rounded edges. It’s available in to buy in classic Black or White. A copper colour is exclusive to Vodafone customers, whilst Carphone Warehouse customers can get their hands on an exclusive Ice Green colour. The device measures at a slim 6.9mm and weight just 144g. It’s also water and dustproof, whilst a capless USB port makes it easier and more convenient to charge the device.
Sony Xperia Z3+ camera
At the rear of the phone is a 20.7MP camera that boasts Superior Auto – a mode that automatically adjusts the camera’s settings to give the best possible picture in up to 52 different types of location. Sony claims that the rear camera can capture plenty of detail even in dark settings.
Other camera features include HDR for high-quality photos, 4K video recording and a ‘Gourmet’ mode that makes food pictures stand out.
The new 5MP camera at the front has an image sensor that, according to Sony, allows the user to capture better selfies in any light. You can even shoot full 1080p HD videos with the front camera.
Sony Xperia Z3+ performance
Underneath the Sony Xperia Z3+’s body is a powerful Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor that promises fast browsing and optimal graphics experience. Sony claims that the phone’s battery lasts up to two days, whilst a single day’s usage can be gained with just 45-minutes of quick charging.

The Sony Xperia Z3+ comes equipped with a 5.2-inch full HD screen that promises sharp and vivid colours. It also supports digital noise cancelling which blocks out any annoying background noise when you’re listening to music through a pair of headphones. You can also connect the device to PS4 Remote Play. This feature allows you to use the phone as a screen for playing PS4 games.
All Xperia Z3+ users will also get Xperia Lounge Gold, which gives exclusive access to competitions, offers, new apps, movies, TV episodes and music.
