Skype reports growth after Royal Baby birth

We never promised that we wouldn’t cover the Royal Baby — after all everyone else seems to be, so it’s only fitting that we can report that Skype received a major boost thanks to the royal birth.

In fact, 55 percent more people were calling each other over Skype than in the same period last year.

Admittedly, Skype has grown since last year even without the birth of the UK’s future king, but there’s no denying that this is a substantial increase.

Skype also noted that more paid calls were made on Monday July 22 between the US and the UK, than between any other country — showing the keen interest the US has in any stories about the royals.
