Samsung has today announced the successor to the Galaxy Tab 10.1. Going under the simple name of Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), it comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as standard and there’s a 3G version too.
Elsewhere, there’s a 7 inch display, 1 Ghz dual-core processor and a 3 megapixel camera. In terms of rivals, it’s aiming squarely at the Media Edition of Motorola Xoom 2 and the recently released Huawei MediaPad.
The key surprise in the box is AllShare Play, a new Samsung cloud based app which links all your content across devices – from TV to tablet, laptop to camera. The service will also integrate with other cloud based services (hello Google) and allow sharing and streaming of content.
There’s no price or release date from Samsung as yet, but expect a March release date and a price of around £250-£300 for the wi-fi version.
