Samsung Galaxy S7 appears in leaked document

A leaked document detailing internal communications within Samsung may have leaked the first details of the upcoming Galaxy S7.

The leak comes courtesy of Chinese social networking platform Weibo. One user uploaded images of a confidential document which contains details of the company’s internal Android M software upgrade program, plus the mention of a mysterious “Jungfrau” device. If you’ve been following previous leaks and rumours, it just so happens that this is also a codename for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7.

The leak also shows that Samsung are busy testing various processors with the new hardware, such as company’s current Exynos 7420. The one of particular interest is the “MSM8996”, as this is the model number for Qualcomm’s upcoming 820 flagship. If this is true, it would be the first Samsung flagship in quite a few generations which doesn’t use one of their own in-house Exynos processors.

However, it’s worth noting that this could all simply be an internal testing phase that will never see the light of day in retail units.
