A listing for a follow-up to the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime has been spotted online, fueling rumours that this could be Samsung’s next handset offering.

Samsung has a pretty solid line of handsets which span across the entire range, encompassing the low, mid and high-end sectors. Although the Galaxy S series is the one which gets the most recognition, they also have a solid Grand Prime line-up for budget users.

Today, fresh reports have surfaced revealing that Samsung has begun working on their successor to last year’s Grand Prime. A fresh listing for the handset has appeared on Zauba, India’s import and export website. The company has apparently started shipping samples with the model number SM-G532F. This number coincides with the previous Grand Prime handset, which went under the moniker SM-GM531.

Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime is a budget offering

Since it’s just a general listing, there’s no real hardware specifications to speak of. Based on what the previous handset contained, it’s likely this will have the bare-bones stuff. The last Galaxy Grand Prime featured a 5-inch display with resolution of 540 x 960 and 1GB RAM. There’s every chance Samsung could bump up the specs a little to compete with other budget devices such as the Lenovo Moto G4, though since it is aimed at emerging markets we wouldn’t count on it.

The Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime series is typically released in India and China, you can’t get it directly in the UK. The last handset to launch in the range was almost two years ago in October 2014. At this point, there’s no concrete info on pricing or availability but since the listing popped up originally on Zauba, it’s pretty much guaranteed that the handset will be hitting India very soon.
