Reports from China suggest that 23 year old Ma Ai Lun was killed when she answered a call on her iPhone 5 while it was charging. She worked as a flight attendant for South China Airlines and is also reported to have been due to get married next month.

The death of Ms Ai Lun was originally reported via Ueybo (the Chinese version of Twitter) before being picked up by the Xinhua News Agency.

Though the specific cause of the accident has not been confirmed forensic investigation has revealed that Ms Ai Lun was electrocuted and this has been listed as her official cause of death.

We have contacted Apple for their reaction to the story and are currently awaiting a response.
