Angry Birds Go!, the kart-racing entry in Rovio’s hugely popular franchise, has launched in New Zealand. As PocketGamer has uncovered, there are some startling micro transactions that the game asks you to pay for.
Namely, you can pick up the Big Bang Special Edition car for some £69.99 or $124.99. You don’t have to pay for the extra cars at all of course, but elsewhere there are charges for extra power-ups and character usage. It’s pretty standard practise for a free to play game to charge for these things, but can anyone really justify that huge price for a digital kart?
That said, the game’s full launch is coming on December 11th, so there’s a chance for change.
Such mad hope, but there it is.
