In an official blog post OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei confirms you can get your hands on the OnePlus 3 without an invite. Finally.

The OnePlus 3 will be announced on June 14th and you’ll be able to buy it then too. OnePlus will be announcing the OnePlus 3 through virtual reality – onboard a virtual space station called The Loop, where you can peruse over the OnePlus 3. You’ll be able to tune into the VR press conference at 17:30 BST, 12:30 EDT and 09:30 PDT.

Those who manage to get into the VR reveal will be given priority to buy the OnePlus 3, it will be available for two and a half hours in The Loop. You can access The Loop by downloading the app.

For those that aren’t so lucky, you can still buy the OnePlus 3 from the official website after the reveal, at 20:00 BST, 15:00 EDT, 12:00 PDT.

Goodbye forever

With the launch of the OnePlus 3, we’re saying goodbye to the invite system forever, Carl Pei claims. This means the One Plus X2, OnePlus 4 etc will not be anticipated with a looming invite! It also means no more invite stories from us, it was fun while it lasted.

OnePlus are still a relatively young company and it remains to be seen whether they’ll be able to keep up with the incoming demand. “It’s a big step” says Pei but they feel confident enough to do it.

Recently Pei teased about the return of the invite system on Twitter, thankfully it was just a bad joke.
