Unlike Android, the Windows Phone OS demands that its handsets have dedicated home buttons at the bottom of the device. This might not be the case for much longer, though, as on-screen home buttons could come in a future update.

The ever-resourceful people at EV Leaks have posted a tweet of the upcoming Windows Phone Blue update. Rather than showing a snazzy new UI, the shot simply shows the home buttons, suggesting that they’ll soon be included on-screen.

On-screen home buttons are touch and go, but we’re sure that manufactures will appreciate the option. We’re expecting official details on the Blue update in the near future, so stay tuned for more news.
