Apple has drafted an October release date for the iPad Mini 2 and the iPad 5, just in time for the Christmas rush, according to a report from Bloomberg.
We’ve been hearing rumours on Apple’s release plans for the upcoming iPhone models but the grape vine has been quieter (until yesterday that is) on any upcoming iPads until now. The report from an anonymous source claims that both models will be lighter and thinner than previous designs and that the iPad 5 will more closely mirror the look of the Mini.
Pictures leaked online show the iPad 5 featuring thinner bezels than older designs and a 9.7″ screen while retaining its aluminium body. The iPad Mini will feature a (naturally) smaller screen measuring 7.9″ across and a Retina display.
Based on these new rumours we’ll have to wait at least another month after the launch of the new iPhone 5s and 5C on September 10th to get a proper look at the new iPads.
