Whilst we have been hearing a September release date for the new Nexus 7 in the UK, Asus has confirmed that you’ll be able to pick one up within weeks.
The new Nexus 7 is set to go on sale from Google’s online Play Store on August 28, with the 16GB model costing £199, and the 32GB being ever so slightly more expensive at £239.
If you had an original Nexus 7, then you’ll be paying a little bit more for the new one, although you are getting more bang for your buck — with a 7-inch display capable of a 1920 x 1200 resolution. You’re also getting a 5-megapixel camera on the rear of the device, as opposed to not having one at all on the first generation.
Whether or not all these features are worth the extra £40 remain to be seen, but at least the Android faithful will soon be able to get their hands on one of the most sought after Android tablets on the market.
