The new Mac Pro was undoubtedly the most exciting bit of kit at Apple’s press conference last October, but it was also the device we’ve had to wait the longest for. Well, now the waiting is over as the new Mac Pro has become available in the US and UK today.

That is to say you can order the high-powered computer via Apple’s online store. The catch is that it’s not going to be ready for shipping until December 30th in the States, so don’t expect to get it until 2014. The same goes for the UK, where it will be dispatched next month.

This new Mac Pro is sleekly designed and boasts a  3.7 GHz quad-core Intel Xeon E5 processor, dual 2GB AMD FirePro D300 GPUs, 12GB of memory, and 256GB flash storage at $2,999/ £2,499.  Upgrading to a 3.5 GHz 6-core Xeon E5, dual 3GB AMD FirePro D500 GPUs, and 16GB of memory will set you back to $3,999/ £3,299.

It’s capable of high performance tasks like 4K video editing. If you’d like to buy What Mobile one for a late Christmas present, we’d forgive you for not getting it to us on the 25th.
