7digital announced today that their Mozilla Firefox OS music store is now available in the Firefox Marketplace.

Firefox OS users can now access 7digitals library of over 25 million tracks via their mobile devices with all previously purchased tracks being made available via 7digital’s cloud technology.

7digital already have apps available for iOS, Blackberry, Windows Phone and Android and the creation of their Mozilla OS friendly app reflects their strategy to become an entirely cross platform provider that avoids tying users to a particular brand of device.

By being the first online music store to create an app for the Mozilla OS CEO hopes that 7digital can gain a head start in cornering the music market for Firefox users. In a press release from 7digital Drury said “Developing the Firefox OS application means we’re ideally placed to become the default digital music store for Firefox OS smartphones.”

The news came just a day after Mozilla released the first Firefox OS smartphones in Spain; the ZTE Open and the Alcatel One Touch.
