Moto X price drops to $399 for new year

It was around two months ago that we reported the disappointing Moto X sales of around 500,000 units in Q3 2013. Well it’s a new year and a fresh start, so perfect time for a Moto X price drop then, eh?

Motorola has announced a drop to $399 for the new handset. The company claims it made the decision after the response to Christmas flash sales, although we suspect it was more to do with the units shifted outside of those sales.

It’s available through any major US carrier without contract. It’s not a bad price for a phone of this calibre, and met with the low-cost Moto G, Motorola has quite a nice line up of devices, although there’s still no word on this reaching the UK. Perhaps with this Moto X price drop 2014 can see the company turn its fortunes around?
