World of Speed, a massive multiplayer free-to-play online racing game, has been announced for release on the PC later this year.
Slightly Mad Studios, the developer behind Need for Speed: Shift and Project Cars, is currently working on the game which it claims mixes team-based racing with an arcade feel.
There’s also the promise of real-time social elements, including club and team gameplay, the Airfield social hub and unique missions and objectives integral to the action.
Races will take place in a variety of real-world locations including Moscow, Monaco and London as part of the initial launch.
As an evolving online experience, players will also receive updated challenges, modes, tracks and cars for years to come, Slightly Mad says.
