Reports have surfaced that iOS 7.1 could be scheduled for a March release.
It will be the first major update for Apple’s latest mobile operating system. Users shouldn’t expect too much out of it though, as most of the changes will be taking place under the hood through a variety of minor bug fixes and tweaks.
Stability improvements will be the order of the day, in particular a possible fix for a widely-reported issue in which devices may reboot at random.
On the UI side of things, the phone dialer, music player and power-off screens have all received minor visual refinements, as you can see below.
There’s good news for motion-sickness sufferers as well, as users will have the option of altering what’s known as the ‘parallax effect’ on Apple’s dynamic wallpapers (the effect whereby objects within the background appear to move around with the gyration and orientation of the phone).
Those hoping for anything more drastic than that will have to wait for future updates though, as there seem to be no new or hidden features on the way.
