Images and hardware specifications of the new Microsoft Lumia 550 have leaked which show Windows 10 Mobile running on a budget device.
The information comes courtesy of Russian website Onetile, who managed to jump on the story first. We’ve known for some time that Windows 10 Mobile will be available on both budget hardware and more expensive handsets, though it’s nice to see the OS in the wild.
Specifications for the device are decent, with 1GB RAM and a Snapdragon 210 processor. Storage is 8GB but can be expanded via microSD. The screen is a 4.7-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1280 x 720. This is a nice touch for such a budget device.
While there’s no word on immediate release, we can expect it to be announced alongside other new devices at the Microsoft hardware event on on October 6th. It’s expected to cost around £85 at launch, which is a little bit above the current Lumia 5xx series.
