The Meizu Pro 5 has surpassed the more popular Samsung Galaxy S6 in benchmark tests.
Meizu has recently re-imagined themselves by creating a new logo for the Meizu brand and more importantly announced a new line of high-end devices. One of those devices was the Meizu Pro 5 which like the Samsung Galaxy S6, uses the Exynos 7420 chipset. The Exynos 7420 was created by the Korean tech giant Samsung.
Even with the Exynos 7420 you would not expect the Meizu Pro 5 to be exceeding expectations and excelling past the S6. Meizu has not confirmed whether they have introduced any optimisations, as according to benchmark results by the Chinese company the Pro 5 had beaten the S6.
For example, in AnTuTu, the new Meizu flagship scored 77768 points, with the Samsung Galaxy S6 managing only to score 68944 points. In the Geekbench multi-core test, the Galaxy S6 grabbed 5058, while the Pro 5 scored a better 5593.
The Meizu Pro 5 is the new flagship for Meizu, sporting a 5.7 inch Super AMOLED display with 1080p resolution. On the all important camera front, the main camera boasts a 21 megapixels, superior to the S6’s 16 megapixels. The front facing camera has a really decent 5 megapixels for those all important selfies.
Sadly the Meizu Pro 5 is currently only available in China, with reservations required.
