The the G2 Pro, the unreleased followup to LG’s flagship smartphone the G2, is set to receive a huge upgrade in the camera department.
The Korean manufacturers have spared no expense in blessing the G2 Pro with 4k video recording capabilities, as well as image stabilisation.
Interestingly, the image stabilisation is lent to the phone via software rather than hardware. ‘Electro Image System’ is what LG are calling it, and its this handy development which will make sure those 13 megapixel snaps come out straighter and sharper than ever.
The 4k video, meanwhile, will enable slow-motion 25% speed recording and ultra HD video capture – at a staggering 3,840 x 2,160 resolution.
All these fancy upgrades come at a cost though, with the smartphone expected to be noticeably larger than its predecessor. We’ll know for sure when the phone is unveiled to the press in Barcelona later this month.
