Apple and Samsung are soon set to duke it out in a second patent court case. But a US judge has already awarded the former two small victories in a pre-trial judgement.
Judge Lucy Koh has invalidated a Samsung multimedia synchronization patent while also breaching on an Apple autocorrect IP. In this case, the patents must have been so clearly infringed that the judge ruled to not waste any time on them in court.
Each side has five different claims to the upcoming trial. Obviously Samsung is now down to four and Apple has already won on of its own, reducing chances of an overall Sammy victory significantly.
Will this effect the upcoming meeting between the two company’s CEOs?
