iPhone 5s still Apple’s top-seller, 5c gaining ground

The new iPhones have been with us for just over a month now and the iPhone 5s has managed to outsell the 5c with ease so far. Right now the iPhone 5s still sits on top.

However that fact could be gradually shifting. Analyst firm Localystics has posted data suggesting that the colourful edition of the smartphone holds 1.7 percent of the current iPhone share, with the 5s coming in at 3.8 percent. That will likely equal out to a big gap, but the 5s was said to be outselling the 5c at a rate of 3 to 1 back at launch.

As CNET notes this latest data doesn’t quite reflect that amount. It could be, then, that the gap between the two is closing. Perhaps with the rush of new products now out of the way, the cheaper model will start to pick up in popularity.

Apple’s Q3 earnings are expected to debut today, so we might have a clearer picture a little later on. Will the iPhone 5s still retain its lead?
