iOS 9.3 is currently in beta and could include useful reminders when using a corporate iPhone.
Screenshots from Reddit shows iOS 93 could be adding a little reminder, before you start installing personal apps onto your company issued iPhone. Reddit user MaGNeTiX posted screenshots of a message that appears at the bottom of their iPhone’s lock screen. Permanently it displays the message: “This iPhone is managed by your organisation.” In settings a new message corroborates the warning further: “This iPhone is supervised. [Organisation] can monitor your internet traffic and locate this device.”
The warning messages are minor updates to the upcoming iOS 9.3. Many companies tend to issue iPhones as the company standard daily driver, particularly the old but gold iPhone 5s. Business phones are a common practice, so much so Microsoft are targeting this niche market with the Lumia 650 (our review on it soon in our next issue).
Those using company issued smartphones may not realise activities can be monitored and traced. With a constant reminder users can think twice before installing Tinder or traipsing over onto “that side” of the Internet, on their corporate devices.
While this doesn’t directly tie in with Apple’s on-going dispute with the FBI. This message shows Apple’s dedication to keeping its users data private and secure. The warnings are currently in beta, so there is a chance they could be removed on release. But it’s a useful addition and we don’t see why wouldn’t you want to save some bacon.
