The Samsung Galaxy S7 does not charge when the device detects moisture.
It’s an unexpected feature spotted by user xxaarraa on XDA Developers Forum, who disclosed how after testing the device underwater and plugging it in for charge right afterwards, received an error message. The message read: “moisture detected in charging port” and subsequently refused to charge.
Samsung has created the S7 and S7 edge with water resistance and managed to do so without adding caps for the ports. Much like how Sony managed it with the Z3 Compact. With the S7 range there is coating and sealing on the inside rather than out, which is pushed aside when things enter the ports.
The error message xxaarraa experienced was a fail safe, displaying how Samsung has got it all thought out.
