Following the release of its new collage app, Instagram’s latest update will give users new tools to fine-tune the colour of their photographs.

The new Android update (iOS in the coming days) comes with two new tools. The colour tool, as its name suggests, tints the highlights or shadows of your snaps. The second tool, called Fade, softens the colours to make photograph look less jagged and give them a vintage look. Perfect for all you Instagram addicts out there. Both these tweaks are small, but they could be the update needed for those after the perfect Instagram photograph.

Another update to the photo sharing app has added post notifications that alert you when users post new photographs.
