Acer Iconia W3 receives significant price cut

We never thought that the Acer Iconia W3 was a particularly expensive tablet, even though it was one that was full of issues. Now, however, if you’re hoping to get your hands on one then the deal may have just gotten sweeter for those of you in the US, with the price now standing at $299.

The 8-inch Windows 8 tablet previously retailed for $380 for the base 32GB model, and whilst there’s no confirmation as to the reason for the price drop, it seems to be following a trend amongst other Windows 8 based tablets.

It is rumoured that the W3 is due to get a refresh shortly, so it may just be that the company is attempting to ditch all of its stock to make room for it, although if we were betting people, we’d go out on a limb and say the tablet just isn’t selling.

We recently took a look at the Iconia W3 in the September issue of What Mobile Magazine and found it to be somewhat of a poorly put together device, but it definitely has potential.
