Yesterday, Honor announced the European release of their new Honor 7 and unnamed smartwatch.

The Honor 7 comes with a host of brand-new features, including a fingerprint scanner, a one-handed screen feature, and even an infra-red sensor that can turn your phone into a remote control.

The buttonless smartwatch is brand new and waterproof up to 10 metres, and Honor wants the end user to come up with a name for it.

The Honor 7 is a high-spec beauty, featuring a 20 megapixel rear camera with fast auto-focus and an 8 megapixel front camera for better selfie-taking. The new software backs it up, giving you the ability to take time-lapse videos. There’s even a mode which lets you create light-trail videos from moving lights.

Powered by a heavy-duty 2.2GHz Hisilicon Kirin 935 processor chip, and with 3GB of memory and 16GB of hard drive to back it up, Honor’s newest phone likely won’t have trouble handling high-demand apps. There’s even a MicroSD card slot that allows you to expand the available storage space up to 128GB. Be warned, though; the Honor website states that only 9GB out of the 16 is available to users.

With a 5.2 inch HD screen, the Honor 7 isn’t short on visual space, and the 3100mAH fast-charge-capable battery will carry it through the day without needing to recharge it on the go. There’s even a reverse-charge ability that lets you share your battery power with that of your friends, so there’s less worrying about carrying a charger pack.

The Honor 7 costs £249.99 in the UK, and comes in Fantasy Silver and Mystery Grey.

Smartwatch

Honor teased their nameless new smartwatch at the event yesterday. It appears to run on Android, and has a smooth, buttonless surface. Coming in at least three colours – Black, White, and something that is called Khaki but looks more like tan, the smartwatch has a rubbery, plastic wristband of the kind found in some sports watches. This is presumably because of its much-hyped ability to go up to 10 metres underwater and still come up virtually ticking.

The new smartwatch retails at £59.99.
