The Huawei Ascend W1 and Huawei Ascend W2 look set to join the swelling ranks of Windows Phone 8 smartphones due to be launched in November.
While little is known about either smartphone, it’s thought we won’t have to wait long as an official announcement is rumoured to be imminent.
The notion of a Huawei Ascend W1 Windows Phone is nothing new and has been floating around for a while but the Huawei Ascend W2 being a high-end smartphone to rival the Nokia Lumia 920 is something new.
When it comes to tech specs, pundits are suggesting the Huawei Ascend W1 will follow in line with the Android powered Huawei Ascend P1, so we could be looking at a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED screen, 1.5GHz Qualcomm dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and an 8-Megapixel camera, which puts it firmly in line with the Nokia Lumia 820 and Windows Phone 8S by HTC.
The one fact that all rumours seem to confirm is that we can expect a range of colours, including black, white, blue and pink.
Rumours for the Huawei Ascend W2 are so thin on the ground that aside from supporting LTE 4G networks, no one is willing to make a guess.
Whatever specification the Huawei Ascend W1 and Huawei Ascend W2 end up sporting, we may not have long to wait.
While it’s great news there will be more Windows Phone options on offer, do you think Huawei is a brand you’ll opt over Nokia or HTC? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
